Cleaning a Jersey Card
Hi
I'm brand new here. Looks like an awesome place of trading card business.
Seeing if anyone can help me on this.
I just bought a Wayne Gretzky Black Diamond 2015-16 Pure Black jersey Relic (#8/10) on ebay.
And I noticed on the top of the jersey part, a thick white lining. Looks like dried white out, or dried sugar from a frosted donut.
Of the 9 cards I bought over the past week to start my Oilers collection, this one happened to be my favorite and it comes in this condition.
Just wondering is this normal? Should I attempt to clean it, or will there be large chance of damaging the card even further?
Here is small pic, I couldn't upload anything bigger b/c the system isn't allowing me too:

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank You!

I wouldn't touch it!
I believe that's a hockey bag piece or glove. Could be glue?
Either way I would leave it as is.Last edited by Whoop; 02-16-2016 at 01:59 AM.

I'm with those above, don't touch it! On a side note, if those other 8 cards are on a similar level to that, then you're starting that Oilers collection with a bang!

Never clean the memorabilia in a card! If the memorabilia is dirty and has stains/wear thats a good thing!
A lot of people pay a premium for a swatch that has puck marks, board burns, repairs, stains, and just general wear and tear.

Phew!
Thanks everyone for the advice.
I didn't touch it and now actually like it with the mark on there, after all the feedback.
And thanks CJ510, it's mostly McDavid and Gretzky. Such a fun hobby
Cheers everyone, appreciate it!

I have this 2013-14 Between the Pipes Jerseys Patch Gold #GUM26 Arturs Irbe 1/1 with a crease. Don't know if that KFC crease makes the card better.

If the piece is from equipment and not a jersey, then the white could be from printing of a logo or something on the piece of equipment. Definitely adds "value" or at least interest.

Here you go, according to the checklist its not technically a jersey card, its part of the Equipment bag! Very unique indeed!
