Help with a patch?
I'm thinking about bidding on this beauty to add to my Drouin PC. In any case, there are about 5 of his Cup ARPs on eBay right now, and I was hoping to snag one of them. However, this one is definitely is a bit more unique because of the texture of the patches.
I have two main questions about this patch.
- Where on the jersey would this patch have come from? (I can't figure it out for the life of me)
- How many colors would you classify this as? It's advertised as being 5 colors, but it's definitely not (maybe 5 breaks). I'm having trouble determining if the bottom right corner of the patch is white or silver.
Thanks in advance!

Nice patch on that one. I'd say 3 colours at least, maybe 4 if those blues are different. My guess is it's a shoulder patch.

I am also going for this one, how much you think it will end at? I was thinking $1500?

That patch is from the jerseys the Lightning wore when they won the cup back in '04. I have no idea why UD would use those jerseys for a Drouin card so that part I can't explain. But that patch is for sure from the shoulder patch on these jerseys. It looks like there's a bit of white jersey on the top left of the patch so its from the home jersey.

If the 04 Lightning jersey is correct, I wouldn't be surprised. UD makes players wear a bunch of jerseys, even if the team doesn't wear them anymore. More types of patches for UD I guess.

It's a rookie card, and with VERY few exceptions (Drouin is not one of them) that means the patch came form a Photoshoot jersey, not a gamer. The patch could be anything, because those photoshoot jerseys get loaded up with extra patches so they can make more patch cards.

Thanks for the help with the jersey identification, I think the '04 jerseys make a lot of sense. I personally think it's 3 colors with 5 breaks. Still, it's a nice patch regardless of where it originally came from.

So did someone here wing the auction? It saw that it went for $635.99.

The back of Drouin's Cup rookies say that it's event-worn, so that's just likely a piece from a patch they sewed onto a jersey so they could create these "sick" five-color patches. That's not from a game-worn jersey.

I won it. I needed one for my Drouin PC, so I figured why not that one?
