A fun statistic from the UD Rep:

The highest activity on the ePack site, and the time where the most purchases occur: Between Midnight and 8AM. Aka, when a shop isn't open. So you're bored up late at 2AM, and say hey maybe I'll open some packs.

This does not at all surprise me. Some guys really do get the itch eh?

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I prefer to open my packs physically, but I still love the idea for releases with base cards, like UD S1 & S2. I have a full base set of both, but no YG of McDavid or Eichel. Or Larkin, for that matter. I just buy blasters now, but if I decide I want to take another shot at a hobby box, it will be an e-pack because I don't want to deal with the base cards. I have so many doubles, triples and more from just the hobby boxes and blasters I have already purchased, I don't want more.

I do not like the idea of e-packs for high end releases though. I don't get the enjoyment factor out of it.

To see how this will affect the LCS, one might want to take a good look at LCBS -- local comic book shops. I finally gave up on comics a little into DC Comics "New" 52, but I cannot imagine that the proliferation of digital comics has helped the local LCBS.

so the 4th epack release is now out (UD1 being first, MVP second, UD2 third)

release is Fusion an epack exclusive ..... no interest to me by the looks of it

Ultimate as previously mentioned should be the next hockey release to follow

looks like there is a non sports related release coming to coincide with Comic-Con (Marvel?)

It's a lot cheaper and more available for collectors worldwide.

E-packs may very well bomb after the McDavid craze is over. UD gets away with absolutely everything this year because they know their products are going to sell out no matter what. I just hope they get a really good reality check soon, and I also hope that a competitor is allowed in again next time licenses are allocated. This monopoly irks me in every way possible.
