Last nights results from the Patriots and New Britain
But first a small rant
I cannot believe the Patriots this first half. A team that started out 13-0 and is now 1 game behind for the first half. I was talking to the beat writer last night and asked him at the start of the season were the Patriots that good or were the other teams just playing catch up and he said both but there is also something going on in the clubhouse but would not elaborate so we just have to wonder what. It also did not help that in June the team lost 4 of its 5 starting pitchers to other teams but the team just gave away to many games during the first half. Also the Ducks have been hiccuping and the Patriots just cannot take advantage. We own the tie breaker but cannot get even to use it. If they win it will be a miracle. I did see a player wearing # 31 in the dug out tonight and that was Evan Meeks number who has not been around for awhile and no one shows up on the roster so will have to see
I wanted to concentrate on the few items I had for the Patriots but was able to hit both sides

Plus I finally got my Mets/Yankees subway series book back from a graphing friend Jordan from last year. He was able to get Ed Charles autograph in it for me on one of the Mets pages. We have been missing each other but finally got it back and hope to have Mookie Wilson sign it end of July if I can make the game. As with other signings they are strictly 1 per and enforced

Next game hopefully tonight vs Bridgeport and I still have quite a bit for them but weather does not look promising. If not on Sunday I work the early shift then have my brother in laws BBQ in the afternoon then we will try to leave and hit the game. Somerset is only about 1/2 hour from his house so I plan on doing the autograph session and then Bridgeport if needed. We then stay for the fireworks which is usually their best of the season. Working Saturday and Sunday the early shifts and BBQ's on both days plus the game on Sunday night makes for a long weekend for me but can crash on Monday and Tuesday.

After the storms stopped here last night I trekked to the Patriots game vs Bridgeport
Stood in my normal spot by the tunnel coming out of the locker room for the Bluefish. I need 14 players and while there I only got 2 and they were coming out in droves. So I moved to the other side where the starters were warming up and from 10 minutes before the start of the game from this position I was able to knock off 11 players.

Had the early shift for 5 AM to open the Costco gas station both Saturday and Sunday and had BBQ both days. So yesterday was work my brother in laws BBQ and my son and I trekked to the Patriots game. The wife did not want to go she was having to much fun at the BBQ. It was their 4th of July fireworks and that was our main interest as we did not get there until the 4th inning so I missed the autograph session. Brought my bag with me just in case I wanted to get some after the game.
The Patriots were losing 2-1 with 2 on and 2 outs and I had myself positioned by the Bridgeport side so when over I would go down the stairs to try and get the 3 players I needed. Well Vinny Zarillo changed that with his first career home run a walk off that hit the foul pole. With that I changed gears to hit the Patriots side as I knew the Bridgeport players would be pissed. As I got to the Patriots side and got who I needed the Bridgeport players were still on the field arguing it was a foul ball and things got out of hand. It looked like they starting to really argue with the umpires and pushing began to start. They had to get people to break it up. Really heated conversations. After the umpires changed they had a police escort out of the stadium and to their vehicles just in case.
This series had a lot of bad blood as the night before the Patriots came from behind to tie the game in the ninth inning and there was a bench clearing then in the 12 inning they stopped the game to do the fireworks before 11:20 PM the cut off time and completed the game in 15 inning which the Patriots eventually won. The Bluefish ran out of pitchers and used 5 different position players the last couple of innings.

Last nights game of Lancaster vs Somerset did not last long for me. I had to work both Wednesday and Thursday in the heat and the dew points were in the 70's so the sweat just came pouring off you like it was raining. With working in those conditions I was only able to last 3 innings last night on a fireworks night that I normally stay for.
Anyway here is what I did get.

Since I needed 17 players and coaches I opted not to bet Butch as I has a stack for him and get the position players coming out instead which turned out to be better for me. I can always get Butch next game

The wife is doing her Walker Stalker weekend here in NJ. They moved the venue from north NJ for Edison NJ about 10 miles form our house.
As she is a huge Walking Dead fan she is in her glory.
She did say they were very strict yesterday as there were no free autographs or the special photo ops. You could take cell phone pictures but the specials costs. Ye

sterday she had photo opp with her favorite Norman Reedus who plays Daryland Chad Coleman who played Tyreese Willams (who was killed off the show) and a photo opp with Sonequa Martin Green who plays Sasha Williams

She has other photos on here phone but not sure who. I just got home from work and getting ready to hit the Patriots autograph session and she is already there getting​

her last photo ops.

Todays game was Somerset vs Lancaster

Today was sort of a bad day for an autograph Sunday. First they held a baseball clinic so those players that were in the clinic did not partake on the autograph session. Then the starting pitcher,catcher and pitching coach do not partake which is normal and then you have those who choose not to come out.
There was between players and coaches plus Sparky only 19 players who showed up and I did not need everyone but did get who I needed. That was fun in its self as they also had a classic car show and needed to cut the autograph session in 1/2 so they could bring the cars in the stadium and circle the field.

Bummer on this also. I purposely did not go for Butch the other night since I had a stack for him I opted to complete the players and finish up Butch today, NOT as Ross Peeples said Butch was not there today as he already drove home. I also needed Lance Zadwacki and he came out as the National Anthem was just starting.
Now I have to go back in 6 weeks just for them

Last nights games was almost 3 1/2 hours long and my but was getting sore but it finally ended with the Patriots coming up short again

The only Patriots left at this time as I know more are in the mail is David Vidal who I tried yesterday pre and would not sign and post game a definite NO as he struck out to end the game. Plus Trayvon Robinson who also would not sign pre but I can get him later no problem

New game will be next Thursday vs Bridgeport. This is the last series with them and I have about 10 players left.
Fridays game will be with Mookie Wilson being there so it will be stand in line for a one only autograph.



I want to spend the second half cleaning up what I do have now and what is already agreed to and in or soon to be in the mail. With that I really do not want to take any more Atlantic League items. Most of the teams coming in are on their final trips so I will be busy trying to get everyones items completed.

With our 4 H county fair coming up next week I have been spending most of my free time there the last 2 weeks. Its a week long event so I will miss the Ducks series at the Patriots. I was able to get away last night to work on the final game for me with Bridgeport and stand in line for an hour and a half for Mookie Wilson's autograph.
