Panini comes through!
Just got a slew of emails for a slew of cards Panini just sent out as redemption replacements. Finally! Now my list is down to three cards.
Nothing spectacular, but I didn't have anything spectacular either
Everything was PC -- current Sabres, a Tony Esposito to replace a Phil Esposito -- except a Private Signings Philadelphia Flyers Jeremy Roenick. I know he played for Chicago, but it's not the same, Panini!
That was the worst replacement, IMO. A Private Signings Philadelphia Flyers Jeremy Roenick in place of a 2011 Playoff ContendersContenders Match-Ups Booklets Claude Giroux, Derek Stepan, Matt Read, Ryan Callahan. Maybe it was the Flyers connection that determined the replacement.
And they must have a lot of Certified stock lying around too!
Anyway, I am happy to finally get rid of all of the old, old outstanding redemptions.
Thanks, Panini!

Nice to get those old redemptions out of the way eh? Is the Roenick an SP perhaps? Tough to trade off a quad auto booklet for a single auto otherwise, right?
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Yes, it's nice to see the list almost empty for the first time in two years.
I don't see anything special about the Flyers Roenick. It's just a card from 11/12 Limited, so I feel gypped on that one. I think Ryan Callahan killed that booklet.

I did a little digging - prepare for good news:
JR1 Jeremy Roenick Chicago Blackhawks SP
JR2 Jeremy Roenick Philadelphia Flyers XSP
Per Al, who used to be the Panini rep that posted here:
Naturally, the print runs vary, with SPs being about 1/4 the run of the common auto, SSP's about half of that, and XSPs being half (or less) of SSPs

So, after all of that, I get my cards today. Here they are:
1. 2012 Panini Limited (12-13) Phenoms Columbus Blue Jackets Shawn Hunwick /299
2013 Panini Totally Certified (13-14) Rookie Autograph Platinum Blue Prime Mark Pysyk, Buffalo Sabres 14/25
2. 2012 Panini Limited (12-13) Phenoms Carolina Hurricanes Jeremy Welsh /499
2012 Panini Certified (12-13) Certified Signatures Marcus Foligno, Buffalo Sabres
3. 2011 Playoff Contenders Contenders Match-Ups Booklets Claude Giroux, Derek Stepan, Matt Read, Ryan Callahan (Flyers/Rangers)
2011 Panini Limited (11-12) Private Signings Jeremy Roenick, Chicago Blackhawks
4. 2012 Panini Classics Signatures (12-13) The Originals Phil Esposito, Boston Bruins /25
2013 Panini National Treasures (13-14) Greatest Signatures Tony Esposito, Chicago Blackhawks 11/25
5. 2013 Playoff Contenders (13-14) Rookie Ticket Signatures Mark Pysyk, Buffalo Sabres
2012 Panini Certified (12-13) Certified Signatures Andrew Shaw, Chicago Blackhawks
6. 2013 Playoff Contenders (13-14) Rookie Ticket Signatures Johan Larsson, Buffalo Sabres
2013 Panini National Treasures (13-14) Rookie Autograph Johan Larsson, Buffalo Sabres 84/99
So, the Roenick turns out to be a Blackhawks card, not a Flyers card; they listed it wrong in my account. And that's fine by me. Still not sure it makes up for the booklet it replaced, even as a SP, but it's a card I would watch on eBay from time to time, so better that than nothing. The rest are all better than solid replacements. So I am very happy with my replacements.Last edited by TRDouble; 04-25-2016 at 06:26 PM.
