    Question Expired UD Redemptions

We're considering adding some more products from 2013-14 and 2014-15 to our site but are worried about hitting redemptions that are expired. Does anyone know if UD honors redemptions in some way other than the online portal? I purchased an expired redemption of a junk auto on ebay only to have their online system reject it and offer no alternatives. Both Topps and Panini at least accept them in their portals and I've had no trouble in the past getting them after expiration.

With players like Vladimir Tarasenko being so heavily inserted as redemptions 2013-14, these products may be something we want to avoid if UD won't honor redemptions for our customers.

Any info or experiences you have would be great to hear!

    Thanks

UD purposely uses redemptions to devalue the future price if the box. They want emphasis on the new boxes.

If you call in the customer service number and relay the code, they will honour redemptions for up to one year past the noted expiry date.

Awesome. I'll give that a shot.

If your redemption is expired to the point that they won't honor it anymore, you can send unscratched redemption cards over to UD and they'll put it in a raffle. Almost everybody wins... I sent in a Devante Smith-Pelley Cup ARP expired redemption and won a Tomas Vokoun / Jason Arnott 2006-07 SPA Sign of the Times Dual Autograph. I would have prefered the ARP, but it was better than a kick in the teeth.

Every card company uses redemptions because then they don't have to make the cards if the card never gets redeemed. It saves them a ton of money because no product will ever be 100% opened in time.
