Wrestling legend Jerry 'The King' Lawler and his fiancee Lauryn McBride have been arrested on domestic assault charges.

The only problem is police aren't sure who assaulted whom.

Lawler, 66, and McBride, 27, who have lived together for the last five years, got into an argument on Thursday after the WWE star returned to their Memphis, Tennessee home from an event ironically titled 'A Night In The Slammer'.

Both Lawler - a one-time American Wrestling Association World Heavyweight Champion and three-time World Class Championship Wrestling World Heavyweight champion - and McBride told police the other initiated the fight, causing police to arrest both of them.

McBride claimed Lawler shoved her head against the kitchen counter before going upstairs and bring down an unloaded handgun.

She said he told her to 'go ahead and kill yourself' after putting the gun on the kitchen table.

But Lawler's account deviates from McBride's narrative.

He says the 27-year-old came home drunk after watching a basketball game and that in her intoxicated state the couple got into a shouting match.

Allegedly McBride wanted to leave the house and became violent when Lawler refused to let his fiancee drive drunk.

In her rage she clawed at his face, kicked him and threw a candle at him, he told police.

He then alleged it was McBride who retrieved the unloaded gun from the garage and threw it across the kitchen, the New York Daily News reported.

'She was threatening to kill herself,' Lawler alleged.

Lawler says McBride was the one who inevitably called the police.

Lawler, who joined the WWE in 1992, has been suspended from the organization due to his arrest.
