    Custom "Topps Now" Question

Hey custom card enthusiasts! I am wondering if anyone out there has taken a stab at making a custom card in the "Topps Now" design style.

I am taking a stab at making one, but I am having a bit of difficulty matching the border/fade of the design. Has anyone had any success in this respect? Any tips to share?

Here is a base Topps now that I am trying to mimic:

And here is the design I started with to try to match the border:

When I apply the border to the main image I am using, I can't seem to figure out how to get the border to fade the same way that Topps did it.

    Any thoughts or tips?

If you are using photoshop, you can use an eraser (big, like 1200 pixels) one shot in the middle and after that play with the opacity of that layer. Simplest way to do it.

yes but there are parts that are more visible then others so maybe use a soft brush smaller then 1200 to mask certain portions
