A blaster box is usually one of those upright standing boxes that have about 8 packs in them that usually costs anywhere from 9.99-19.99, and you are usually not guaranteed to get anything (although there are a few exceptions, such as Donruss Champions). Retail boxes are the regular looking boxes and are more expensive than blaster but cheaper than hobby. This is because there are less chances of getting the big hit in a retail boxes, but you are still usually guaranteed to get at least 1 GU or auto in every retail box, you'd have to read the box though I guess. Hoped that helped.
