Twisted my Own Arm on a Box of Artifacts.... Good Thing I Did!!!!
Funny story to start!
So I went to one of my LCS's today..... The street access was blocked off. The grocery store across the street from the LCS was under lockdown. So I went to the alley, and the owner let me in the back... Better this than turning around, and going home. There was a destiny to play out here!
While that business was festering over there. I was only in to do some searching for things I can use in trades. While doing this one of the regulars who is an Islanders collector was opening up a bunch of Artifacts. He had already lapped up three boxes, and only one remained. So! In my intrepidity I decided to scoop the last box thinking what the heck! Why not? Even though I've almost completely absconded to opening anything more, I just decided it felt okay just to do this one.....
Well!
So onto my openings....
In the first pack I pulled a Red Wings Emerald Redemption... That went right away to the owner of the store as he is a Red Wings collector. It's just fitting(plus he did just hand over my pile of Jagr, and Palffy he had been saving up for me so the trade was fair here).
The second pack saw another quite limited card. A 1/1,269 Frozen Artifacts of Bob Bourne. That went straight to the other guy that was opening up the other boxes. He also has been a great supplier to my Palffy collection from his Islander years.
So now the third pack, and into the cards I actually walked out of the store with. A Morrissey Ruby Parallel..
The fourth pack saw this guy...
And the fifth pack made me feel the magic was really only in the first two packs....
Until a glimmer of hope with a nice Gallagher/Galchenyuk Duo...
But then a Leafs Connor Brown Rookie popped up(didn't scan this one) and Then figured the show was almost over, but....
I had to do a double...
Triple...
Quadruple take, and realized I had hit the hit of the day!
Then I had to take another look, and realized it was one better that it's the auto!
So um... Yeah! not bad at twisting my own arm!
And now for all those interested... Anyone willing to lay a pile of nice Jagr/Palffy cards at my feet please do so, otherwise it will be for sale for a number I am keeping in my head, and it is an average for what it sold for on ebay.... So you know!
Thanks for the look!Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd
