New to SCF...a quick question...
Just joined last week and have been catching up on many topics & posts....so pleased I found this site. I used to collect cards back in the mid to late '70's through till approx '82 and then once again when the craze took off in '90/'91 for a just a couple years. My now 11 year old son has started collecting basketball cards and this has rekindled my interest & passion, so much so, that I've dived deep into UD series 1 this year.
My question...maybe no one knows the real answer...but how many (approximately) copies of YG and YG canvas do you feel may be printed each year? I am led to believe it's significantly less than the '90's but I don't know what that means when it comes to a number. Obviously there are the /10's and /100's and they are certainly worth the premium, but what about the un-numbered YG's & YG canvas? 10,000?, 100,000?
Anyone with some thoughts and insight? I would truly appreciate your replies.

every year someone (maybe @sedinfan) runs the math on this; take a set you know the print run like exclusives and tries to figure it out.... something like 30k YGs? I'm just going off of memory, but that seems to be what I recall
someone who actually runs the math please figure this out haha

Every year the print run changes depending on how much of a product they print. Some years they turn up the presses and print more boxes (usually because there is a good draft rookie class) and other times they cut production because it isn't going to be a banner year for rookies.

Thanks for the info...this helps and I'll make an effort to do the "math".
As I mentioned earlier...purchased 3 hobby boxes of UD1 and numerous (and I mean, numerous) boxes of store bought blaster boxes. My search was for YG's and the value was certainly there in the retail version. Maybe it's just my luck, and for simple comparison sake...I'm sitting on ONLY 1 Chris Bigras YG that came out of the hobby box and I've pulled 6 Austen Matthews YG's all out of the blasters.
This got me to wondering how possibly over-printed these cards could be....I actually pulled 2 out of the same $30 box...go figure.

Yes I did. I was as shocked as you seemingly are. It was the same box that game me 2 Andrew Hammonds in the same pack and 4 in the box of 10 packs...
