16-17 SPA Configuration Changes
Saw this on cardboardconnection. No mock ups yet.
http://www.cardboardconnection.com/2...c-hockey-cards
only 2 guaranteed autos per box. 16 boxes per case. 2 patches per case.
You can still get 3 autos but if you don't you get a spectrum parallel as the 3rd hit.
Apparently lower box price but looks like only 1 patch every 8 boxes.

Cost better not be over $100 especially with only 2 auto gurantee and 1 patch per 8 opposed to 4. I just really don't understand their POV to make a change. I swear if a buyback is considered 1 of the gurantee autos I'll be sending in a strongly worded letter to UD

Lower price direct from UD perhaps, distributors will no doubt play their pricing games so the savings don't make it to customers.

I wouldn't pay more than 100$ either. I don't understand this as well, my favorite product from UD just took a hit. Down 2 packs also. Theyre were 24 packs a few years ago, went down to 20 now 18. 6 less packs. Lesser cost for UD, none for us!

As per other products we've seen, 'buybacks' or cards from last year that didn't make pack out will be included as one of these 2 auto hits if you happen to hit one. It sucks and I don't agree with that kind of stuff either. Cards like that should be included as a bonus hit.Jhonas Enroth Card Collector & Host of the Hidden Content

The price isn't much lower than before from what I hear. A friend of mine was quoted $125-130 for a pre-order price on it (Canadian) whereas in previous years I believe pre-order price on SPA was around $140. Yes $125-130 is a little cheaper but not cheaper enough considering there's less packs and less autos...not to mention that in 14-15 when I last collected SPA it wasn't uncommon to get 3 FWAs in a single box (making set-collecting somewhat actually realistic) whereas last year and apparently this up coming year getting more than one FWA in a box was very rare since they produced a massive ton of the SOTT cards

Will be interesting to see what these new parallels look like, and I wonder if those beautiful Black Future Watch cards will return again.
I'm not sure what we'll see at the retailer level with pricing on these but I share the sentiment with many that it better be a drastic price drop to the $100-$120 range.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Very weird that they changed I wonder if sales were down from last year so they felt they needed a shake up? I personally stayed away from the product because of the lack of FWA and the flood of other autos, this year seems like it's bound to be worse. So to get the set will I have to bye 45-50 boxes??? Seems like a strep in the wrong direction for a keystone product IMO. Let's see I guess

No way their sales were down this year with McDavid. I will be staying away from the product and eBay hunt my set. Because even if Matthews/Laine is expensive I gurantee it'll twice as much if you want to pull from a box. This really grinds my gears because I was saving up to buy a case of this stuff
