Friendly Fire
I love having Shea Weber with the Habs. I just got my first Parkhurst card of him in the mail yesterday.
But last night he uncorked one of those canonading drives of his and it caught Brendan Gallagher square in the hand...the same hand that was shattered by a Johnny Boychuk clapper last night.

You can see he's in a ton of pain from that video clip, and that a couple digits are bleeding badly.
He's out for the short-term as he'll be evaluated by team doctors, but fears are running high that his season could be shelved for a few weeks.
As if the Habs don't have enough injuries!
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Weber's shot is so hard, I'm afraid it'll injure Leafs players even when Montreal isn't playing the Leafs!
Seriously, what a great trade Montreal made to get Weber, he's been so dominant. Must admit I had series doubts about the move at first but wow he should be in the Norris convo in my mind. Subban on the other hand..

He's been an absolute force back there, and his leadership only adds to the strength of the team in the room. Between him, Pacioretty, and Price it's a very strong group that can instill confidence across the board. There was a gif floating around Twitter the other day during the Habs OT against Nashville. All the guys are around him are standing up on the bench, and he's like, "Ok let's sit now" and everybody just plunks their butts down.
I've said for years that if Weber played in Canada people would get a much better idea of exactly how good he is. I never actually thought it would happen, and even less of a chance of it being with the Habs, but man what a player he is.

I'm a big Habs fan but I will have to disagree. I'm not saying he's not good but I thought he was better. He's slow and can't move the puck. Yes he has a hard shot and is solid defensively but I don't find him dominant. Besides his last 3 games, he had like 1-2 pts in his last 20. At 10mil$ a year, I don't find that dominant! Let's not compare Subban and Weber right now, he has about 9 years left on his contract and Subban is injured.

To me, his defensive game more then makes up for the non elite point numbers he puts up. But last I checked he was on pace for 20 goals and plus 35, that is elite! Not comparing him to Subban for the duration of the contract, just what we've seen so far. Many thought Weber would regress terribly this year while PK would take his game to new heights. Neither has happened. You'd be hard pressed to argue that Weber has not played better then Subban this year.

Subban has played about 25 games... chill out ;)... 10 years is a long time
I'm not making comparisons with P.K. by the way.

Im chill :) just having a discussion. I agree long term, you probably like Subban to run with, but it's just nice ( or bad for Leafs fans like me) that Weber has fit in so well.
