So true. If a card is listed way too high, I wont even attempt an offer because I know the seller is either clueless or he is simply trying to screw people.

    or showing off. lol

I've hard of people doing this on eBay. I wonder how many sellers actually do?

    See bimola's Items on eBay

I feel your pain - Offered $100 for a card on ebay - seller came back at $140 - I offered $120 as a final offer and they countered at $130 which I declined. Card has been reduced twice now to $99.99 and I don't have the motivation to hit the buy button. On to other things.

That's crazy that they would counter you a 2nd time! seriously over $10? You already met him halfway.

I did a BO on a listing $37+$3 shipping on a $60 list price. they countered with $47, I countered back with $42. They countered again with $45.

I said screw it, over $3, I'm not buying this. My original offer was on the high end of the history of ended listings on Ebay.

A lot of sellers don't realize the first reasonable offer will be their best offer. Always greedy.

Funny thing is, if they list a reasonable price w/BO, usually somebody will just buy it outright without an offer. I know a lot of people list 50%-100% higher than what they actually want, but listing at 10%-20% higher gets you more offers and more chances for outright purchases.

Right I have actually dealt with some who ended up accepting like 30-40% of their original price, but they are a very rare minority, I think most people, myself included will not even bother when they are listed at so much higher than reasonable, since you don't expect they will actually come down to 30-40% and every while you even end up getting a nasty reply that you would waste their time with an offer that low, despite my offer being 10% higher than the last sale lol but how it goes ..

have to agree when I see some of the cards i was rejected on, priced for less than my offer later on, the petty side of me gets a nice chuckle out of it, assuming they were nasty about it anyways.
