Personally I'm happy about this as a Habs fan. It means that Scherbak will get a full run of RC's next year instead of just a handful of cards, most of which would not have the full bells & whistles available.

Slow year for the Oilers.... Caggiula has a YG coming out... Benning & Simpson don't have that, neither are in SPGU either. I'll assume they're going to filler for The Cup & SPA though.

I'm expecting no holdovers for them this year... push to the playoffs means that the Joey LeLeggias of the world should stay in the minors.

Which begs the question, if the date was locked three weeks ago why are we still waiting to hear the rest of the Artifacts Redemptions from Upper Deck.
I will consider buying cards from my want list for the right price.

Since the advent of Artifacts Rookie Redemptions, has Upper Deck ever put the full list out before February?

I don't disagree. They should know the list already..... I just don't think getting this list done ASAP has ever been a priority for them.

When was the last time that the Rookie card cutoff was set so early in a season. Didn't it used to be either the AS break or the trade deadline?

I don't think it was ever as late as the trade deadline, but All Star Break maybe ??

I started to look for a past season... couldn't get last years, but I did find info from two years ago:

    http://www.beckett.com/news/2014-15-...ine-announced/

14-15 it was January 15th... and the news came out on January 28th. Upper Deck then announced the Artifacts checlist on February 2nd:

    http://www.beckett.com/news/upper-de...e-redemptions/

(I'm assuming Beckett published that news as soon as UD released it).

So... if I assume the same (rough) time lines are needed:

13 days from Cut Off, to announcing the cut off, and then another 5 days to firm up redemption lists.

It took a lot longer this year to announce what the cutoff was (news dropped on 23rd, 18 days after the cut off) but is that because UD was slower to anything with the news, or because the PA took longer to tell them?

I think you've got a valid question... and I guess my full answer should include "I don't believe Upper Deck particularly cares about dealing with redemptions until they absolutely have to". I mean, maybe there is a hot debate going on at UD headquarters right now... and they're trying to decide if Kevin Lablan or Daniel O'Reagan should be the final wild card redemption, but I somehow doubt it. UD confirmed all the big stars earlier in the season, and they'll drag their heals on redemptions like they always do.

I'll bet that we hear the final list next week though. That would line up with older timelines.

Kevin Lablanc is already set for the San Jose Redemption. I'm curious to see the final list as I have a Wild Card 212 and an Autograph RC Redemption #XII. Hope to hit the Marner with the 212 and a good player with the Auto XII
