About SPA...the official release date hasn't changed, but all the LCS employees I've spoken to (who are in communication with the distributors) say it has almost no chance of being released before june (like last year). To all you SPA collectors...expect it in June.
About ICE...this is a product where the value vs cost and ridiculously shallow checklist are just astonishing. I don't think it compares in bad-ness to Ultimate but other than Ultimate it has to be the worst release (when considering pricing) in the portfolio.
If boxes of ICE were like $40 CDN I still don't even know if I would consider it a good deal

Ultimate is a really good comparison. I remember the days when Ultimate was a one pack configuration and I believe you got 3 hits including two autos and the price was not ridiculous and usually in the $100 range. What happened to those days? This entire idea of adding a couple of more hits and boosting up prices just b/c of a couple of good players(rookies in this case) is insane to me. A product should be priced according to the entire checklist and not a small percentage of it and this is why I typically stay away from any product that is too pricey b/c as I mentioned, the chance of high reward is extremely lacking in most instances.
Over the past couple of months I have also contemplated investing in some Black Diamond, but it is the same deal as ICE. The cards look nicer in my opinion and I believe there are no worthless game used cards and it is an auto based set, with the only game used cards being those books and jumbo hat and relic cards. But alas is this was maybe a $150 product instead of $250 one, I would have actually tried a couple of boxes.
Whatever happens with SPA is good by me as long as the limit the number of redemptions and make it a quality product like they usually do. ICE is just so bad. Watching breaks is extremely tough when case hit autos are of guys like Matt Beleskey. I kid you not! The design for Ultimate last year was also pretty bad. Ultimate was one of my favorite products back when it was only one pack, but now it is a product I do not even enjoy seeing in a group break b/ the design and checklist is just so boring and provides no entertainment value whatsoever.
