    Spring Training TTM

    Hey everyone,

I just started collecting autographs by mail not too long ago and I had some success sending to football players, but I was also interested in sending to baseball players, specifically during spring training. Any suggestions as to who are good signers? I was thinking about sending to Brad Ziegler and Chase Anderson for sure...

I am sending out somewhere around 65 TTMs to ST. PM me and I'll give you everybody that I'm sending to.

Also I've seen successes from all of them, so I'm hoping to get most back.

I received replies last year from Nori Aoki, Steve Cishek, Alex Avila, and Jerry Blevins. Failed responses from David Price (doesn't sign) and Mike Aviles (requires donation). Never heard back from Trevor Cahill, Asdrubal Cabrera, Jonathan Broxton, Gordan Beckham, Darwin Barney, John Axford, and Brett Anderson.

Spring training is always a crapshoot. There's a thread going in the TTM Success forum (See link below) with the lists people are sending to. I usually use spring training for a lot of long shots (This year includes Alex Bregman, Trea Turner, Stephen Strasburg, Jackie Bradley Jr., Edwin Encarnacion among many others) - I've gotten some big names in the past thru ST, so it's worth a shot. Just don't send anything you don't want to lose.

OC22 is absolutely right. One of the golden rules of TTM collecting (and I've seen it here posted on the forums a ton) is that you should never send anything you aren't willing to lose. You never do know if something will come back, even if someone has a 100% return rating. Another avenue to try during spring training is big league coaches; many of them are retired players and could be a good source of autographs as well.

Most (if not all) MLB teams have their spring training address on their website. Just write to the player in c/o the team. I would say use the TTMM on this site, but I already see that the Reds ST address is wrong (they play in Arizona, not Florida), so I can't guarantee any of the others.

Sweet! I ended up sending to only a couple guys= I'm going to try the regular season addresses for most of my requests. I sent to Brad Ziegler, Chase Anderson, and Robbie Ray, hoping to get all three back. I was also thinking about sending to Cahill but the general consensus seems to be that he's been a tough signer lately.
