Hello. Been away for a while.

Hello to the forum. My baseball card collecting started like most of us probably.....as a kid pack by pack. Mine began in 1976. I stayed faithful and dedicated for about 10 years until, again like most of us, cars and girls popped up. Later, I decided to get back in somewhere around 2001. I was ready, willing and had the itch. Unfortunately, that year was probably the only time I officially hated card collecting and I was out. Nothing personal to all of you guys collecting new stuff. I think much of it is beautiful, artistic and of good quality. It's just not for me. Too many of these, too much of those...... #'d, #'d subsets, refractors, die-cut and parallels......pieces of this and that. O.K I'm officially an old fart I know.
Funny thing is about 2 months ago I returned and returned hard. With a passion I haven't had since I traded a Rickey Henderson RC for an '82 Topps Traded set. And I have all those new cards I have no interest in to thank for it all. In the winter while work slows down, I occasionally purchase storage units at auction. One particular unit contained 2 monster boxes full of Autos, GU and some sets. While going through them and re-realizing my passion for collecting I'm back in. Strictly vintage though, 70's back. My first project will be putting together (or finishing) the set of my birth-year 1970. That's about my story. See you around the boards

Welcome and good luck on the 70 set

Like you nothing like the cards from my youth that went into my bike spokes 1958-1962. Would love to have all the cards I had back then which disappeared when we moved in 1963
