Raiders to trade for retired RB Marshawn Lynch?
http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...marshawn-lynch
The Oakland Raiders are strongly considering the acquisition of retired running back Marshawn Lynch, either through trade or by his release, league sources told ESPN on Friday.
For now, Oakland would have to trade for Lynch because his NFL rights remain the property of the Seahawks, as he has two years remaining on his contract. Seattle general manager John Schneider and Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie have a longstanding relationship; they worked together in the Packers' front office.
Under terms of his existing contract, Lynch would be in line for a $9 million salary and cap hit in 2017. In 2018, he would be due a base salary of $7 million and could potentially earn an additional $3 million roster bonus.

If the Seahawks could get a draft pick for him, why not?

As a big Seahawks fan, I wouldn't want Lynch to play for another team. I believe he once said he wanted to retire a Seahawk. But, I understand the Raiders are his home team. Raiders would have to give up a lot in trade. I don't see that happening. I don't see the Seahawks releasing him without getting anything in return. However, it is the NFL, and anything can happen.

Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says he talked to Marshawn Lynch about 10 days ago and the running back is at least considering a return to the NFL.
"He came through the office and had a good visit," Carroll said Wednesday. "I know that he is somewhat entertaining the thought of it. I can't tell you how strong it is. You've got to talk to him. And that chance isn't happening."
