Last night IP successes.
My wife and I went to a book signing of DIY TV star Nicole Curtis. In the audience was also Kentucky's Lt. Governor, Jenean Hampton. My wife and I had a really high number for the signing (like number 143) so I tracked down the obvious State issued security guy (earwigs are a dead giveaway) and asked him if it was ok to approach the Lt. Governor to have her sign an index card for my collection. He cleared it and thanked me for the courtesy of asking. Boom!
Got her to sign an index card and she laughed and made sure I knew it was Nicole Curtis that was the guest of honor. I told her I collected autographs so we shared a laugh and a selfie. Really down to earth it seemed.
Then as we waited in line, it became apparent that the two hour drive home was going to be less than fun, because the clock was continually ticking towards 10 PM home time (we crossed into Central Time for the event), so I asked the lady in charge of people wrangling if we could be expedited over the locals, because of the two hour (which was actually 3 hours of clock time) drive. They were nice enough to accomedate! They were too busy for me to ask Nicole to sign teh baseball I brought with me, but she did sign the book that Sarah brought.
