Wow!! Another overtime game.
The Leafs, no matter what happens have more than held they're own this series. Washington finished with 15 more wins & 23 more points than the Leafs this year. Those OT games could have gone either way & we could have won any of the ones we lost. Matthews has 4 goals, a rookie, & Ovechkin has 2 & I believe both were on the Powerplay. This series on paper should have been a walk in the park for washington, they should have blown us out of the water. Im not sure whether the Leafs overachieved or in typical fashion the Caps underachieved. I would go with the latter of the 2. Either way i am proud of my Leafs.Last edited by jameslacarte; 04-23-2017 at 09:50 PM.

Thanks Toronto for an awesome season & a wonderful Playoffs. Washington now has to play Pittsburgh & if they play like they did in this series the defending Stanley Cup Champions should make quick work of the Caps. I know who i will be cheering for.
Can't wait til next year with these Leafs. For the first time in many years there is optimism in Leafs Nation..

The Maple Leafs achieved much more than most "experts" and us regular people ever expected! The tough part now is to keep up this level of performance every year.

Great year. Awesome series. Aside from the series win, I couldn't have asked for anything more here with 5 OT games. Fantastic effort by the Leafs!

@Sharky94 big whoop, they beat a team that wasn't supposed to be there. Do we give the Capitals a plate of hero cookies for that??
I think your team will have a much more difficult task next round. My only hope now is that Crosby and Ovechkin somehow miss the series. I'm not wishing ill of either of them, I'm just not a fan of either of those two. Come to think of it, there are very few established "superstar" players that I like. My all-time favourite "superstar" players are:
1. Jaromir Jagr, above all others
2. Tyler Seguin
3. Jonathan Toews
4. Teemu Selanne
5. Phil Kessel
I wish the Capitals and Penguins luck in the next series, but for now, well done Maple Leafs! Excited for the offseason now!

Though I'm disappointed the Leafs lost, it's going to be a great Pens & Caps series next round. Can't complain about a Crosby/Ovechkin matchup!

man, what a great game to end the series. Andersen looked pretty cool and collected for most of the game. That 6 minute barrage in overtime was all that the Caps really had...
lets hope that Babcock and company continues with the plan through the summer. Would like to see them take the first step of being a consistent contender
I absolutely hate the Penguins, so I really hope Washington can shut up the masses over there.
GO LEAFS GO!!!

Hey Sharky, your Sharks lost to the Oilers!! Let that sink in for a bit lol.. A Team that still remains pretty much intact as the 1 that Lost to the Penguins in the Finals last year & you went out in the First round this year. Your Core players are old yet the Leafs Core players are 20 somethings. You should prepare for some long tough years ahead as i see a rebuild in your future. The Sharks were so close last year but you know close just does not count. At Least the Leafs have a Bright Future, & the Sharks are headed in the opposite direction. Like i said, let that sink in!!
