Theeeeeey're back! Auston Matthews and company have led the Leafs back into the playoffs, but they'll be in tough against a very strong Capitals team desperate to prove "this is the year."

My Prediction: Caps in 5 ( a big sorry to my beloved Leafs but the Caps will prove to be too much for this young, inexperienced Leafs squad)

Im saying Leafs in 7 simply because no one is giving them any chnace. Leafs are unpredictable. I think Washington will stomp them in the first game but the Leafs will adjust and slowly get better, reaching game 7 and winning 4-1, officially breaking the Boston curse from 2013!!

Barry Trotz was so approachable as head coach for the Predators (I live south of Nashville and am a Preds fan) and would interact with young hockey players at the local rink when he was around. I would be excited to see him win the Cup. Ovechkin is also due. That said, I'm super-excited about the Toronto rookie core. Matthews, Marner, and Nylander . . . can it get more exciting ?!? The odds are stacked against the Leafs and I think the Caps will take it in 5. But, I wouldn't be too surprised if the Leafs reach deep and win the series. Regardless, it's going to be so fun watching them play in their first playoff games!

Yes, I give Leafs fans a hard time! Yes, I'm not a Leafs can, but I was as a kid, believe it or not! I just got tired of Leafs fans blaming the team's mediocrity on officiating, poor ice, the schedule makers, anything NOT directly because of ownership/ management! Now however, you've got ownership that actually cares, and management that knows what they're doing, and won't stand for any BS, while also openly admitting to a rebuild, unlike the Canucks!
So I'm glad the Leafs are in, but sadly, this isn't their year....Caps in 5 unfortunately.
