Series Discussion Thread - Ottawa Senators vs New York Rangers
The two teams responsible for breaking my bracket (and my heart) will square off in round two.
This is the second all-time playoffs meeting between the Rangers and Senators, with the Rangers taking their only previous meeting 4-3 in 2012.
The Senators won the season series 2-1-0 this year.

I may be overconfident, but I say Ottawa wins in 5.
There was never any expectation for a deep playoff run, so not much pressure on the team and that helps. Beating the B's definitely gave us some wind in our sails, too, so I expect the team to play a simple game and to have some fun on the ice before they meet Sid the Kid in round 3. ;) Then it's off against McJesus in an epic East vs West Canadian battle, the stuff of legend, which of course Ottawa wins in a gutt-wrenching game 7 OT with none other than Erik Karlsson scoring the winning goal. No need to say that he also wins the Norris.
That went kinda far, but here's to hoping anyways! LOL
The Rangers have very good offense, but suffer a bit on the D. Their best D-man is Lundqvist, to put it bluntly.
I predict the Sens will effectively do a good job shutting down the NYR's offense and our own offense will play it careful and go for a simple game.
GO SENS GO

Rangers. Lundqvist looks to be on his game, and maybe those missed games this year helped him have a little more energy for the playoffs.

I don't like this series!! My heart says Ottawa in 6, but my brain says Rangers in 5. Comes down to goaltending, and while Lundquist and Anderson are both playing great hockey, Henrik is more than slightly better, I'm afraid....
Always looking for Senators cards! Must be a draft pick, or the card is identifiable as a Senators card before I want it!
Until further notice, I ship on Mondays. Only day off, so only chance to get to the Post Office.

This is a pick em series!! I'd like to see Ottawa win (this coming from a Leaf fan who hates ottawa) but i do think the Rangers will prevail. Lundqvist is playing incredibly, just ask the Habs who couldnt score, & that is scary for any team the Rangers play..
I will take the Rangers in 7 games...
Anyone else see a series of low scoring games?Last edited by jameslacarte; 04-24-2017 at 03:48 PM.

I would love to see that more than anything. But I think the Rangers have too much firepower, and the Sens just don't seem that strong. Hate to say it, but I see the Rags coming out with this one.

This will be an interesting series for the Rangers.....I think if Henrik plays like he did in the Habs series then it will be Rangers in 6. They are a different team night to night, some nights they come out and play solid D and out hustle other teams, take advantage of other team's mistakes and win. Then there are nights were they look they are playing pre-season hockey. They are a tough team to figure out. All I can say is Ottawa will have their hands full if the Ranger goal scorers get going. Nash and Zucc had a good series, but Stepan, Miller, Kreider, Zibanejad will need to be a part of this one....
LGR!!
