Auston Matthews ROOKIE RC #201 BGS 10
Did anyone else see the Auston Matthews Rookie that sold for $7,334 USD on eBay?
Yes it was graded 10 and all sub grades were 10 but that is a lot of cash!

WOW...my head hurts from the facepalm.
I will NEVER spend four figures for any piece of cardboard encased in hard plastic. Whoever bought that needs medication...

How about 5 figures for a card that has over 6000 graded copies and probably 20,000+ were made? Oh and it doubled in price in 2 months!

In fairness to the buyer though, If I had the cash to spend and that much $$$ didn't mean as much to me, heck, I'd buy some sweet cards with that kind dough as well.
The buyer likes what they like and have the financial means to obtain it. Good for them.
It's the same thing as our own player collections here on the forums. Add up all our purchases, and you have quite a bit of cash. Maybe not the same financial level as this particular listing, but the same thing applies. Collectors like to collect stuff :) Good for us.

@creasecollector if I had unlimited cash, I can literally think of 50 things I would do with that money before I spend it on cards. After I do those 50 things, heck yeah I'd blow money on cards LOL. I still would not be able to justify spending four or five figures on a piece of cardboard though

True, I'd definitely spend it on a few things first. But just like sports memorabilia and such, it can be a big pull for wealthy sports fans. And it would be hard to justify it for sure, but if someone has a great financial scenario lined up for themselves, I'm sure they won't be too bothered by it.
