Post Jay Cutler to retire and do TV for Fox

    http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...tv-analyst-fox

Former Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler has accepted a role as a color commentator for Fox Sports, effectively ending Cutler's 11-year NFL career.

    Cutler called the decision permanent.

"I don't really see anything else happening," Cutler said on ESPN 1000's Waddle and Silvy Show on Friday. "I'm happy with where I am in my life and in the future going forward. So we can go ahead and stamp that -- it's permanent."

Cutler, 34, will start in a three-man booth alongside play-by-play announcer Kevin Burkhardt and analyst Charles Davis, allowing Cutler to get adjusted in the same way that Troy Aikman did when he entered broadcasting in 2002.

    Dennis Miller anyone?

I don't have the animosity that most Bronco fans for Jay. I still have his jersey (two of them, not burned, lol), and every card of his I ever got.

But I can't say I was a big Cutler fan. Oh, I rooted for him to win while he was here, of course, but never felt he was going to be the star he was supposed to be. And I always felt like Bears fans - that our QB just didn't care if we won or not.

Few players really made me feel as if he was only in it for the money like Jay Cutler did.

He recently (according to what I read) said that doing TV (being in the booth) was the worst thing he could think of to do after football, and that's exactly what he's gonna do. Do I feel he's doing it only for the money, and that I will feel like the announcer doesn't really care about the game he's calling.

Yes. I think so. And I will be surprised if returns to the booth in 2018.

John Lynch turned out to be a terrific announcer. I really liked him. Jay has big shoes to fill there.

I don't think he will be any better in the booth than as a quarterback. John Lynch was good and I think he will do okay in his new job! Be nice to see the Broncos back in the thick of things again!
Looking for Aaron Judge cards, current Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs!

He's probably doing it because his wife made him take a job for money....
