2017’s Best Cities for Hockey Fans
HHockey is heating up in America. Both participation and attendance are up, for one. And according to a Harris Poll of America’s favorite sports, ice hockey today ties with men’s pro basketball as the fifth most followed sport among U.S. adults. In fact, the National Hockey League has grown so popular in recent years that it sold out more arenas than the National Basketball Association just a few seasons ago. Americans are even willing to pay 15 percent more, on average, to see an NHL match than an NBA game.

I noticed Nashville made the list for lowest NHL fan engagement. Gotta figure they've shot up quite a bit since this list was tallied.

I am sure it gone up since then. Just to give you a idea of what it was like at the All Star Game in Nashville. My wife went with me each day as I waited in line for the autograph guest she would sit at the live music venue. There was usually less than a dozen people listening to the various folks sitting down. Perhaps a dozen or so standing but all in all when you get into attend the event and can see live music by decent names in country music the attendance is pretty sad. Example the only person that I seen truly fill the line of autograph signing was Dylan Larkin as he went quickly. Think once his line started the quota of 250 was filled in iike 20 to 30 minutes. I just walked in for a 2nd Gibson auto when he was signing as he didn't even fill the quota so folks just double dipped lol.
