Who has the most RC?
Using the SCF Inventory I see that Rick Nash had forty three (43) different RCs in 2002-03. Hard to fathom that many, but it is what it is!
Anyone working a PC with a higher RC total? (only straight RC...no parallels or inserts)Hidden Content

That is probably close to the highest if not the highest. My PC play, Dan Blackburn, has 35.

It would have to be someone in that era, with UD, Panini, Topps, ITG, Pacific.
I tried a few other names... and could get 39-43, but didn't break that mark.

I dont think they have 35+ true rookie cards. To most people in the hobby, there can really only be 1 true rookie card per licensed set. Everything else in that set will be a parallel or insert. Its hard to believe there are 40+ licensed sets in 02/03.
I would have to think it would be a popular rookie from 10/11 - 13/14, whichever year UD and Panini made the most sets combined, seeing as during this time both companies mass produced the crap out of hockey cards ( at least for our era )

There are 49 Rows that come back for Rick Nash RCs. 4 are ITG History of Hockey, so they're slabbed / repackaged versions of earlier releases. That leaves 45. 2 of them are dual player RCs from 03-04, where he was paired with a Rookie from that season (Fritsche & Zherdev, respectively) so those are RCs of those players, but not Nash.
The other 43 are all RCs, from difference licensed sets. List below... with set name, and manufacture in brackets. There's a few places with Topps & Pacific where the waters on unique releases gets muddied, so I added extra notes:
Atomic (Pacific)
BAP All-Star Edition (ITG)
BAP First Edition (ITG)
BAP Memorabilia (ITG)
BAP Signature Series (ITG)
Bowman Young Star (Topps)
Crown Royale (Pacific) - #ed
Crown Royale Retail (Pacific) - Not #ed
ITG Used (ITG)
OPC (Topps)
OPC Factory Set (Topps) - Maybe not different than above?
Pacific (Pacific)
Pacific Calder (Pacific)
Pacific Exclusive (Pacific) - #ed
Pacific Exclusive Retail (Pacific) - Not #ed
Pacific Heads Up (Pacific)
Pacific Quest for the Cup (Pacific)
Parkhurst Reto (ITG)
Private Stock Reserve (Pacific) #ed /99
Private Stock Reserve Retail (Pacific) #ed /1550
SP Authentic (Upper Deck)
SP Game Used (Upper Deck)
SP SPx (Upper Deck)
Stadium Club (Topps)
Titanium (Pacific) #ed /99
Titanium Retail (Pacific) #ed /1475
Topps (Topps)
Topps Chrome (Topps)
Topps Factory Set (Topps) - Maybe Same as 'Topps' ??
Topps Heritage (Topps)
Topps Total (Topps)
UD Artistic Impression (Upper Deck)
UD Foundations (Upper Deck)
UD Mask Collection (Upper Deck)
UD Piece of History (Upper Deck)
UD Premier Collection (Upper Deck)
UD Top Shelf (Upper Deck)
Upper Deck (Upper Deck)
Upper Deck Classic Portraits (Upper Deck)
Upper Deck Honor Roll (Upper Deck)
Upper Deck Rookie Update (Upper Deck)
Vanguard (Pacific)
So...
ITG did 6 releases with Rick Nash RCs
Upper Deck did 13
Pacific did 14 - but those numbers are inflated by 3 sets (Titanium, Private Stock, and Crown Royale) having seperate releases for Hobby & Retail.... the RCs are not the same cards though. Pull the RC from a Hobby pack, and it's significantly more rare (lower serial number) than if you pulled it from Retail. Is one a parallel of the other? I can see the argument for it, but I don't believe that's how they've ever been considered.... the RC from each set is its own RC, each with it's own set of parallels.
Topps is the one I'm not sure about. There are at least 6 unique sets there. Is Topps Chrome a parallel of Topps? Cards look the same, numbered the same.... but they come from different packs. You couldn't buy a pack of Topps, and get a Chrome parallel.... you bought Chrome and got a bunch of Chromes (not regular).
I don't know if the Factory Sets for Topps & OPC were actually different than the base sets... they might not have been. So maybe that lowers the count by 2? I suspect they were not.
There were a TON of releases every years from the late 90s until the lockout of 2005.

The Topps Factory Sets had Gold type, while the regular cards had silver/grey or whatever it is classified as. The picture and everything else were the same, I believe.
