Autograph Mediums
I was hoping to gather some opinions on what you feel is best autograph medium? Lets ignore cards. I'm looking to go to a signing for some retired players and was unsure what was regarded as the best item to have autographed.
For my purposes, I plan on displaying it. So I'm not opposed to having a larger item like a jersey or stick. But, my opinion is that either an 8X10 or puck are the best items. A stick or jersey would be awesome if it were from the era in which the players were in the NHL, in this case 70s, which is more difficult to find.
Even with an autographed puck, do you use a blank puck, team they played for? Should I be bringing my own (silver?) marker for them to use when signing?
Sorry for all noob questions. I have a bunch of signed baseballs but no pucks, and the baseball market has a lot less variety.
Thanks in advance for anyone that will share.

I think the 8x10 would be the best option. Easy to display, and they'll look great. Pucks are a good option if you can't choose (or can't find) a piece of equipment from their era.
For pucks, bringing your own silver sharpie would be wise, as they look great on signed pucks.
As for the puck itself, try to get one with the team logo on it at least, better if it's maybe an "official" puck from the team if possible. Those official pucks really do look great. Anything other than a blank puck, honestly.

I like 11x14 photos best. They allow for more signing space and they just seem to pop a little better than 8x10's. Pucks are great too, but they take up a fair bit of space and if you want to ship them you're gonna pay a bunch.

Pucks. Look for the pucks with team logo that are specially made for autographs. They have a smaller logo, like this one:
