No Tim Cheveldae in Bowman 1990 set?
I recently purchased a factory complete 1990 Bowman box. When I got the box, it was sealed and the box says inside is the "complete set of 264 cards". When I was sorting through them, however, I found that the Red Wings didn't have a single goalie card. I thought that this had to be a mistake or that the box was tampered with as the Red Wings, of course, had a goalie, but upon searching the box again I still found nothing. I then went to the enclosed checklists and scrolled through for the names of any of the Red Wings goalies that year but found nothing. Finally, I checked a full database of the set and found out that this wasn't a mistake. Bowman just didn't produce a single Red Wings goalie card that year. Does anyone know why this is? Cheveldae wasn't traded and played 65 games for the Red Wings that season, which is more than some of the other players of whom I have cards of. I can't figure out for the life of me why this would be.

I can only speculate... but remember this: When a set came out in 1990-91, it was really based on the 1989-90 season. Cheveldae did play 65 games in 90-91, but only 28 the year before (much less than Glen Hanlon did).
He's also not in Topps' set that year, so it's not like Bowman was the only set to exclude Cheveldae either. I certainly remember him playing for the Red Wings, and then later the Jets, but I don't remember him being a huge name in the league... and don't recall him as a big name rookies that manufactures would have had on a "must have" list.
It's curious that they wouldn't include a goalie, at all, for the Red Wings. I don't know the set well enough to know how many teams that was the case for.

There were a few at least, I'd say around 3. I thought it was strange not to include a goalie for some teams and three for others. Thank you for your reply!
