    Opinions on a Sale

Hey there guys. I do not know very much about trading cards in general let alone basketball cards. My dad about 5 or 6 years ago bought a huge box full of unopened Basketball cards. The years are either late 80's or Early 90's. Anyway, i am finally looking to sell them for him and i was wondering what the best way to do so is. Should i open the cards and look for single good cards, or should i sell the box as a whole?

I am hoping to sell the box (boxes) whole. Together im collecting there about 2000 or more basketball cards in there all unopened in their plastic wrapping as well as the wholesale boxes they come in. Also what do you think i could get out of them. I am hoping for maybe 700 or 800 dollers but i dont know if that is asking too much or too little. If oyu guys would respond that would make extremely happy. Thanks guys, i appreciate it.

try and get a list of exactly what you have....i dont collect bball anymore, but was active in the early 90s and i can tell you that most of the stuff in that time period doesn't hold much value at all, and without seeing a list i would say 700-800 is very high

Thanks for the imput guys. Its all unopened so i dont know if i want to open it all up, would it depreciate at all? should i keep them unopened?

which brand? nothing in the 91-92 era is worth anything. check ebay for the prices that they are getting for the same thing. highest card in all the sets is a larry johnson rookie and it goes for $1.50. might be more but i am looking at the beckett right now and see nothing

Yea I think 91 was the 1st year for upper deck in basketball, but I could be mistaken. The only thing that sux is that the early 90's stuff was mass produced so almost none of it worth much of anything.

Although 10,000 cards is alot of friggin cards. Best case scenerio is that you stick it up on ebay the fun factor in busting those packs is worth some money alone. The bad thing about 10,000 cards is the shipping cost/headache.
