    Question Grading Dilemma

I have this 1994 Finest Refractor Michael Jordan BGS 9 with the following subgrades Centering 9.5, Corners 9.5, Edges, 9.5 Surface 8 Would you crack it and remove the protective coating and re-submit it for a possible 9.5 or just leave it slabbed?

They grade the surface based on the film coating? I didn't know that. So I'm guess there aren't any 10 surface grades for any that AREN'T peeled. Anyway I voted crack it open and remove the seal to get it regraded. But whatever you do PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE before you do it. Use common cards so if you remove it and damage the card you can get the technique down correctly before you attempt it on the Jordan refractor.

Yes, the protective coating is part of the surface grade.
