Players do not win rings, teams win rings ... Brady has not won 5 rings, 5 different Patriots teams won 5 rings ...
Because even Cutler has been WAY, WAY, WAY better than Flacco ... Flacco a 70.0 rating and on pace for 10 TDs & 18 INTS ... Cutler a 78.8 (12.6% higher) and on pace for 19 TDs and 13 INTS ...
Flacco fell off the proverbial "cliff" before Brady ... and Flacco's 7+ years younger ... wow

Jeff- You can say that again. Of course, if he still had Beckham that would make a big difference. He also doesn't have Shepard or Marshall either.Always Looking for:
A) Graded Vintage (Pre-1980) (BGS, BVG, PSA, SGC) in all sports
B) Graded True RC's (No inserts or parallels) (BGS, PSA, SGC) in all sports
C) Certified Auto and GU cards of players from the 70's and further back in all sports

Rabs- Remember that Trent Dilfer and Brad Johnson won super bowls. Also the Giants won it with their back-up (Hostetler) when Simms broke his ankle.

In my opinion neither Flacco, nor Eli should be in Canton. As a Giants fan I would put Simms way ahead of Eli as a QB.

Flacco has no chance at the HOF I don't think ... Eli will be a first ballot HOF'ER ... the guy has 2 SB MVP's and won both those games as a big underdog against the guy many consider the GOAT ... Eli is 1st ballot for sure imho.
There is no case against Eli making the HOF ... none ... and I am NOT an Eli or Giants fan at all.

Devlin- I agree with you. When I think of Hall of Fame I think of elite. I do not ever think of Eli as an elite quarterback.

While I agree with all of you that Eli has NEVER been "elite" outside of the two post-season SB runs, which totalled a whopping eight games, I would bet big $ that those two playoff runs alone, combined with the decent "career numbers" will earn Eli a place in Canton ... I would literally be shocked if he doesn't make it in on his first ballot, let alone ever.
Believe me, I have no doubt that a guy like Tony Romo, who may never make it into the HOF, was an infinitely better QB than Eli, but so much of the perception of players, and especially of the HOF voting process is built up around media narratives and the like, and all of that said, you've got a site like FiveThirtyEight saying that Eli was "the most clutch playoff QB EVER" ahead of even Montana ... which is insane ... but that's what they say ... I have no real doubt Eli gets into Canton.
