What happened to defense?

1020 goals scored through yesterday in 169 games (6 goals/game), and as of now there are 2 games done at 4-3, 1 at 6-3, 1 at 7-5, 1 at 8-3 and 1 at 3-2. This is the most nutty scoring I've seen in a long time and I feel bad for every goalie coach out there trying to figure out how to help his guys.

I can’t even make praise for Carey here. LOL And how about the Habs offence finally bringing up their share of goals in the final days?

It’s been a high-octane start to the season for sure. I think it’s that new slashing rule and the faceoff violation penalty causing more man advantages.

I don't know what happened to it.... but I like it.

I have always agreed that there are some great 2-1 hockey games played. You know what I hate watching most of the time though? 2-1 hockey games. Most of them make me sleepy.

You know what I NEVER get border watching? 8-3 hockey games.... or 5-4. I'd be happy if we started seeing 9-6 as a normal score.

Give me Bettman's job.....

Slim down the goalie equipment, increase the size of the ice surface (210x98 vs the current 200x85), and add another couple of inches to the size of the net (make the posts another 6 inches apart, and the height 2 inches taller). Then let power plays run their course, regardless of how many goals get scored.

Upping the ice surface would be tough to do. Might need to take the next round of expansion fees and use it to pay for the renovations everywhere.

And wait until they actually start slimming down the goalie equipment
