2 additional thoughts. Is there a way to add a button for the original requester to close down a request?
Would it make sense for these to have their own sub-folder (maybe within the buy/sell section?) so they don't bog down the main forum posts?

1) no - there is not... I could add a field that is not mandatory for the requestor to add the username that did this, but it would be something that I could not guarantee
2) I can define were this would go; however, something that I would want to think about is having it potentially in a non-sport specific location as this could be used by other sport collectors.
