    Newbie from Winnipeg

Hello All, my name is Carl.....just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a lifelong collector, now 50 years old. Mostly hockey and prefer vintage cards. Not looking for high end, pristine cards, good would do. I am trying to finish off OPC sets from my youth. It's mostly for nostalgia than profit or investments.....
What brought me here? I have begun the incredulous task of cataloguing my collection. I won't guess to how many cards I have, but I have been collecting for about 45 years. While sorting my hockey OPC 73 74 set, I came across an unusual card. It was checklist #116. It had no printing on the front, the back was normal. I approached my local card shop dealer and he had no clue on it. He only heard of some cards having blank backs, not fronts. I searched high and low on the net, Ebay, read some of my publications that list 'error' cards and this one wasn't listed. I've sent emails to dealers and have yet to hear back. I cannot find anything on it. I called Upper Deck (since they now own OPC) and they couldn't help me. I've sent a note to Beckett but they haven't replied yet either.
I'm very curious to what I may have. How scarce would this card be? How can you put a value to it? I've searched for any error card that are unique and can't find anything on that either.
If anyone can shed light on it, I would truly appreciate it, or point me in the right direction.
    Thank you in advance....

Carl- Welcome to SCF! I have also never heard of a "blank front" card.
    Always Looking for:

    B) Graded True RC's (No inserts or parallels) (BGS, PSA, SGC) in all sports
    C) Certified Auto and GU cards of players from the 70's and further back in all sports

Carl- Part of me is; part of me is not. I hate to see the Yankees part with Castro. I would have rather seen them player Gleyber Torres at third and part with Frazier and/or Headley. I also don't know what if any prospects they will have to give up.

I hear you, from what I've read up to this point it looks like it's no top prospects.......you think you'd have to give up a lot to acquire a Stanton......doesn't seem like the price was that steep, and Miami might eat some salary.....

Carl- I tend to doubt the Marlins will eat salary if they are not getting prospects. I am concerned that the contract runs 10 years and the last years may be like a boat anchor like with Teixeira and ARod.

I agree with you 100%, but it's contrary to what I read.......I have a feeling that he'll opt out of the contract after 2020 (unless the Yankees have a championship or two along the way).....sounds like he really wants to be a Dodger......
