Discuss: Former NFLers call for end to tackle football for kids (via CNN)
Several former NFL players called Thursday for an end to tackle football for kids ages 13 and under.

I agree with those former players! HOWEVER ... every parent should be allowed to make this choice for themselves and I don't believe the game needs to be outlawed or anything like that.

I know this has a lot to with TBI's so I can see why they are pushing this as an issue but man would there be some bummed out youngsters and a lot of my friends looked forward to playing tackle football at that age, I only played my freshman year as I was to busy playing soccer and basketball.

Adults don't really have a love for playing football so why would kids 10-13 care so much with having to play tackling football? I mean I get that college and high school football is profitable for some of the schools and whatnot but does anybody really care about middle school and younger football? Can't we save these kids a little bit and ban tackle football for these ages? It shouldn't be that difficult with school budget cuts and the medical costs associated with the game.
