Question regarding collecting certain players

i'm not sure if this is in the right part of the SCF forum, been a bit since I've posted, but since the 49ers added Jimmy Garoppolo, I have a good amount of CJ Beathard autos, now my question is, do people buy someones rookie cards in a different uniform, like i haven't bought a Garoppolo one since I only collect 49ers in 49ers uniforms, but say down the line the 49ers deal beathard like the pats did garoppolo(not saying Beathard is a future starter or not), but do people collect any rookie autos of players?

People will but theoretically if the guy was with one team his whole career and thus his rookie autograph matched the team he was famous for and popular with his cards would be worth more.

I still hunt after John Riggins autos as a Jets collector.

College uni cards can grow in popularity since the player does not have cards yet in his new team's uni. Most people prefer not to get a card is his old NFL uni unless it is a player collector.
