New Collector, Need Advice
Hello everybody! So I've been off and on buying some hockey cards and I've decided I want to start seriously collecting.
As a broke college student, would anybody be able to give me advice as to what packs to buy to get the best bang for my buck? (Hockey)
Also, any other collecting, trading and selling tips would be appreciated as well.
Thanks everybody! I'm looking forward to an exciting experience.

@L96A2Pirate welcome to SCF! If you're looking for the best value on a limited budget, Upper Deck Series 1 & Series 2 we your best bet. Young Guns rookie cards land 1:4 packs and the better names hold good value. MVP & O-Pee-Chee are other low-cost options but the chances of getting your money's worth are a fair bit slimmer than with Upper Deck.
What do you collect? I've got a few thousand cards on my tradelist and am always looking for new people to trade with.Hidden Content

Welcome to the site!
My advice would be to browse first and find something you like before you go crazy and buy up stuff that you like. Because if you end up not really liking that then you will be out a lot of money and time. We've all done something similar so the best advice is always to take it slow and not jump right in because sometimes waiting saves you from making a costly mistake purchase.Selling All My Cards Here------>Hidden Content

Welcome to the site, @L96A2Pirate !
There are already a lot of hockey card collectors on SCF, including myself. I would say focus on building up your collection straight from packs can be good for building some nice trade bait, but using the money to buy singles first would be a better way to get the most out of your card budget. I've been a broke college student, and I know the feels man. If I did nothing but used my 'card money' on packs I would have been gutted. So instead, I focused on buying single cards for my collection that I knew I would like. It was a win-win for me. I chose how much I wanted to spend, and i got exactly what I wanted in return.
Then, when you narrow down what your collection interests are and what products are out there, you can selectively look into buying some packs. Just my 2 cents though. Totally up to you!
If you have anymore questions about collecting or the site here on SCF, please feel free to message me on here. Good luck & have fun!Jhonas Enroth Card Collector & Host of the Hidden Content
