Greetings from Bozeman, Montana

Thanks for having me. I collected sports card when I was young like many people. I ended up with a collection that fit into a large trunk that I would carry everywhere I moved and went. When I was around the age of 22, I moved out of a house I was renting with a roommate and left my collection at the house and planned to come back and grab it last on a final load. I never saw the collection again.

Years went by and I would stare at the retail packs, and boxes at target or walmart and would never buy anything. I followed football as I got older, but still never bought anything. I would even stop at a card store here and there when I traveled the country for business and please. Fast forward 17 years and hear we are. In late 2016, I started buying retail. There is not a LCS in Bozeman, so I was stuck buying retail boxes and the occasional internet purchase of a hobby box.

My how the Sports Card world had changed while I was gone lol. Junk era was a distant memory(to most, I still like the era) and here we are with relics and autos. I have dug so far in, I decided to start a breaking business! I am the General Sales Manager of a Toyota dealership by day and card breaker by night. That's my story, and again thank you for having me. I am glad to be in the community of collectors! Matt C

Welcome to the boards Matt! My wife and I took our honeymoon in Bozeman years ago and absolutely fell in love with the scenery and the easy going nature of the town. Sorry to hear about your previous collection, if there is a silver lining to it, you can pick and choose your favorites from that era. There's times I look at my boxes from the late 80s/early 90s and think "I ought to donate this stuff".

Would interesting to hear another voice from the junk wax era and how they view the hobby now and what they remember from back then. People who didn't live it really don't know how much it has changed.
