    Grossman Advice

    Hello Everyone!

I am a longtime Bears fan and have been collecting Rex Grossman since his rookie year (picking stuff up pretty cheap for the last couple years). I have built up a fairly substantial collection of his RC Auto's and just wanted some fellow collector advice on when to sell. Like I said I am a HUGE Bears fan, and do not have a problem holding these (but would prefer to not end up with a large pile of cards to look at that are worthless like what happened with Anthony Thomas). With the insane prices that he is getting on e-bay right now, I just wanted to put this out there and see what some fellow collectors had to say.

Here is what I have... The first number is how many I have the second is how many were made if they are numbered (I also put details like grades if they were graded)

If you're looking to make a profit, you should hold until the playoffs. The Bears are awesome this year and may even by the NFC favorites to go to the Super Bowl. IF they do, his cards will rise drastically and you will make a substantial profit.

I disagree with coolguy...I say sell them now. Just for the risk you are taking of time. You would make much more when the playoffs roll around, but that's a risk when you're talking about a bears' quarterback. They're always getting injured or benched or something. I dunno, just my 2 cents.

Keep the SPX, Topps Rookie Premire, and the Ultimate Gold #d to 25. At least sell your doubles and anything with Kyle Boller. Grossman could be the real deal and that is a nice collection. I like the Honors Hidden Gem those are sweet cards and the one with P. Manning is sweet too. If your interested as a Bears fan there is only one auto i know of from Adewale Ogunleye from 04 fleer E-X sign of the times #d to 56. I've only seen it twice and it is nice card. Too bad he didn't stay on the Dolphins that guy is a beast. Actually there is one on Ebay now.
Good luck go bears unless they play the fins.

I'd keep some/sell some for now...that way you're covered at both ends and you will still have some nice cards to "fall back" on if he keeps blowing up.

the bears should very well make the playoffs and could go deep into them. i'd agree that some should be sold, like the one with boller, but they could really shoot up if they make a run.

i would sell the ones you have doubles of at least. That way if he tanks you at least made some money and you still have a nice collection in case he blows up.

I would sell most of them now, But you like the Bears and collect him I would hold on to a couple of the better ones you like. In 5 years his cards probally won't be worth much, He is to injury prone. Just my 2 cents....

SELL SELL SELL!!! Because Grossman had 1, and I mean 1 solid game means nothing to me. Hell 4 TDS against my beloved Lions is nothing to brag about. Trust me,everyone thinks he is a stud now.

Dont buy into it, the Lions make everyone look good. Hell Joey Harrington in the 1s game of the 03 Season threw 4 TDS against the Cardinals, look how he turned out, sell em now, Im not sold on Grossman with 2 games into the season against the Packers & Lions
