    Jarome Iginla Retires

One of the greatest players in the modern era has called it a career.

He's a guy that is widely respected by fans, peers, and throughout the NHL...and with good reason. Man, I would have loved to have him on the Habs.

As a sign of respect, there's an open thread in the Show & Tell Forum to show those Iginla pieces. View it here and add yours! https://www.sportscardforum.com/thre...a-Appreciation!

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Iginla was a great player no doubt. The fact that this announcement is happening in 2018, and not 2017, just feels weird.

If Iggy still wanted to play pro hockey.... and found a taker in the ECHL... I'd say good for him. Do what you like, I never bought any of that "ruining his legacy" nonsense that gets put on players who keep going well past their best before dates. If you're still good enough to play somewhere, and want to, then do it.

I don't understand what Igina last year. It's a weird one.

I think he was holding on in the hopes of either getting a pro deal or being asked to go to the Olympics.

I always loved him as a player and a better yet a class act. No matter how the fans were treating him or the autograph hounds were being less than perfect he always handled them with class. Look forward to seeing him inducted into the Hall.
