Well buddy, you're going to have some competition now, considering that I've decided to start collecting Liut myself..

IMO, Liut was without question an underrated goalie, and for the era he was pretty tall dude (of course he would be considered short in the modern era) and I bet if you asked most hockey fans that are somewhat familiar with the 80's and 90's Liut probably wouldn't be in their Top 10 if they thought about it... The obvious names would be Grant Fuhr, Patrick Roy, Andy Moog, Billy Smith, Glenn Resch etc.

So yea, I'm going to start collecting Mike Liut cards now.. I already probably have 100-150 different so that's a good start... I already collect Murray Bannerman, Warren Skorodenski, Grant Fuhr, Andy Moog, Bill Ranford, Dominick Hasek, Ed Belfour, Billy Smith and Chris Osgood (I collect goalies in general, lol) - I think there's room for another goalie to focus my attention on.... Obviously I'm going to start with the most difficult cards first, so it seems I will be looking for Mike Liut Upper Deck SPGU true base veteran cards first.

This will be fun.

LOL, I hate to break it to you but I've had tons of competition for Liut cards over the past decade, especially from Blues and Whalers fans. It's cool to hear that you have 100-150 of Liut's cards already, that's an impressive amount. I believe there is another collector on Hobby Insider who has a pretty massive Liut collection as well so between the three of us I'm sure we have concerned most of the market already. Liut was definitely underrated and in my opinion one of the better goalies in the 1980s considering the porous defences that he played behind. Can't wait to see some of your pickups!

I never knew Liut had an Upper Deck SPGU true base veteran card, can you share a link?
