    Printing Plates

Pulled an Ahman Green black printing plate form 06 topps jumbo and it's really dirty like someone spilled a coke all over it. I assume it's ink or something, but i'm not sure if i should clean it off or leave it as it is? Anyone ever cleaned a plate before?

Never have had that problem. If it looks like it might come off I might try cleaning it but if not I wouldn't mess with it.

I think your right best not to mess with it. there is a reggie bush black printing plate on ebay and it is dirty or inky or whatever so i guess that is the way they come.

Does it look like the ink they used to produce the cards? If so, let me know and I can ask a printing press operator I know, what he'd suggest to try to clean it with.

It's got to be the ink unless someones drinking soda or beer when they print the cards. Maybe it holds a better value with the ink? I don't know would you wan tthe card with the ink or with a nice surface?
