Here's the thing though folks - if there are very few people using it, there will be very few cards listed. Maybe if more people joined and added their cards, there would be more activity and more to choose from.
How can a site grow if nobody joins because of low results? How can the site improve if there is no activity?Last edited by Leafsman; 08-12-2018 at 01:47 AM.

I just don't think there are enough of us (into hockey, anyway) to support another alternative. Just based on pure volume, ebay is king and it will remain this way for some time. We have COMC, and to a lesser extent sportlots.com. There just isn't enough to to add another.

lol, ebay x100...
Ebay has any card and every card you could possibly want.... I mean you could search for a card numbered out of 15 and find 3 of them.
Also, ebay is too simple, too established and.... I can't see collectors moving from ebay to Sports Card Direct.

100% eBay...only thing that comes close is COMC.

I'm just now seeing some of these posts. My point to bringing up an alternative was because people had various complaints about ebay (fees, the fact that sellers say buyers have all the rights, etc.). If people are unhappy with some of ebay's policies and fees, make a change. To those who say "ebay is king" because "it is too established" - remember that us collectors had a part in that establishment, no matter how small the contribution. If collectors won't move away from it, stop complaining about ebay.
@Savard18: Your assertion that "Ebay has any card and every card you could possibly want" is downright false. I don't collect ultra rare cards numbered 15 or less, to use your example. I don't collect rainbows, parallels, or autographed patch cards. You are correct that there seems to be countless examples of those on there. I personally have no time for that fluff. I collect true rookie cards. My main focus is SP Authentic rookies.
Those rookie cards are numbered thus:
1998-99 & 1999-00: 2000
2000-01 to 2003-04: 900
2005-06 to 2012-13: 999
2013-14: 1299 (FW) & 999 (FWA)
2014-15 to present: 999
They aren't exactly rare but certain ones can be pricey on ebay (Crosby, McDavid, etc.).
Most cards can be had through sale or trade but not all the cards I need are on ebay. For instance, I haven't seen a great deal of Casey Cizikas or Josh Bailey Future Watch Autos on ebay. I hear the story that they didn't sign many of their cards but I don't buy that. I think they're signed but it's a case of either collectors are holding on to them, or Upper Deck possibly held them back as replacements.
You can't find "every card you could possibly want".
