    Why shipping practices are important

Last week, I got a package from COMC. 100 cards. When i saw the package my heart sank.... as there was a few very nice... and nearly impossible to replace cards in there. See the attached photos.

I do not add top loaders to my cards, but there was lots of stuff from the mailbox that had them. All loose cards were safe between top loaders, and not a single one was damaged. What I mean is that the cards that had their own toploaders were used as the ends in tightly packed team bags, that had loose (just penny sleeves) cards in between them. It worked great.

They took their time putting things together, and good packaging like that makes a world of difference when the post office drops your box, or throws it against a wall, or whatever it is they do.

That's a pretty badly beat up box. Glad it worked out. Is there going to be a S&T thread to see what's in the box?

There will be a few :)

There's a couple of Ranford related Leaf Masked Men threads in the S&T section now... some of those cards were in there. One of my "new hockey season resolutions" is to be a little more active with the S&T stuff. I'm gearing up for a few other big posts.... there were some cards in that package that will be part of those.

Not all of it will get a S&T thread though. Some of the stuff I like just isn't that interesting, lol.

Sorry to see that this happened, and I'm glad the cards are okay! Must have been quite the reaction when you first saw the box like that.

And I also really love COMC's shipping practices, too. Their shipping/packing techniques are top notch! Nothing but great results every time I've received a package from them.

Just adding another comment to the thread to mention how much I appreciate the care that COMC takes when packaging their stuff.

Whenever I order from there I always have great confidence in what will be received.

    A million times yes.

I have always been confident with them. They do stuff right. Those pictures prove that this confidence is well placed. I don't know what CP did to that box, but it was worse than "dropped once". That kind of damage to two corners does not happen with a single incident.

That my package could be treated THAT poorly (which, I also have to mention, is VERY RARE for CP) and the contents were not damaged at all - I'm pretty happy, and that's why I wanted to share.

I think posts like these can also inspire us to take a look at our own shipping practices to make sure we try and go that extra mile when we ship (where possible) in order to hopefully insure that the person receiving the cards gets it in good condition.

Sometimes things happen that are out of our control of course, and that will always be the case, but a few more pieces of tape to keep things locked in place, or just general card protection can go a long way when shipping.
