grading cards

Hi everyone,

As a new forum member, I am not sure if my post goes here or somewhere else. If it is misplaced, please move it and let me know where it went. I want to have some hockey and soccer cards graded. Some of my friends had awful experiences getting their cards graded. They said they had submitted some hockey cards to a few professional graders and waited about 9 months to get them back. What's worse was some of the cards they got back had been changed. For example, two of the cards they submitted were an O Pee Chee Wayne Gretzky rookie card and a 2005-06 Upper Deck The Cup Sidney Crosby rookie card - Gold Signature Patch Auto. The cards were changed to a Wayne Gretzky rookie reprint and a 2005-06 Power Play Sidney Crosby. My friends were both upset and angry. So, they called the graders and asked about the changed cards, but the staff were rude and refused to investigate that. They suffered a big financial loss.

I am concerned about how honest grading companies are.

(1) Has anyone had such a bad experience?

(2) Which graders are honest and trustworthy?

Not sure which they used but the big 2 are BGS and PSA
