Teaser Gallery: Panini America Opens Three Boxes of the New 2018 Prizm Football
Another action-packed new-release week in hobby shops and on group break sites across North America saw Panini America release both 2018-19 NBA Hoops Basketball and 2018 Prizm Football today. The week will culminate with the release of 2018 Flawless Baseball on Friday. We’ve dedicated quality time over the last few weeks properly previewing each of this week’s new releases. Yesterday, we turned our attention to Teaser Gallery box-break posts, beginning with NBA Hoops. Today, we’re ripping a few boxes of Prizm Football.

I like the way the base cards look for prizm but overall i am not a big fan of the set.

Right off the bat, first box, first pack, they pull a redemption.
And SHOW IT OFF!
Unreal. The results of a lack of competition in the hobby.
I think Prizm is getting stale, with little change to it's look from year to year. Seems all that matters is a zillion parallels. I guess that's nice for rainbow builders. I admit my rainbow of Julius Thomas from 2014 is a pretty sweet two pages. Topps Chrome would be doing the same thing.... They were.
But I really couldn't look thru all those pictures without thinking about the redemption from the first pack. I guess they have no idea what a let down it is to collectors to open a pack and see one of those instead of the hit you were expecting.
Especially to those of us who pulled Julio Jones from 2011 Contenders and gave up after like three years, only to see it redeemed even later.

It seems the Panini stuff looks the same every year. They need to show a little more creativity.
