Post Joe Theismann & Alex Smith’s Injuries Happened On Same Day, On Same Yard Line, With Same Final Score

    http://dailysnark.com/joe-theismann-...l-score-video/

Alex Smith entered Sunday’s game against the Texans as only having being ‘quarterback of the Redskins’ in common with Joe Theismann. He left the game sharing a whole lot more.

Smith was taken down for a sack by J.J. Watt during the third quarter, a tackle which snapped his tibia and fibia at the ankle, leaving only muscle, tendons and skin holding his foot on.

Watching from a suite at the game Joe Theismann, who suffered a similar horrific broken leg exactly 33 years ago to the day.

The coincidences didn’t stop there, though.

Not only did the two Washington quarterbacks have their season (and in Theismann’s case, career) end on the same day on the same 40 yard line, with the final score of both games being 23-21.

    It doesn’t even end there.

Both QBs had their right legs snapped by the only two three-time defensive player of the year winners in NFL history. Talk about eerie.

There are some very freaky coincidences in sports history ... and this is now definitely one of them ... I feel bad for Alex Smith as he seems like a good dude and a pro's pro and I do think the Redskins were going to win their division and earn a playoff spot ... and now his career may be over completely.

I remember watching the Theismann hit when I was young, and then I saw the play on Alex Smith. It didn't look that bad at first though. Very eerie once you read all of the particulars between those two games. Hopefully his career isn't cut short.

I also remember the Taylor hit on Thiesmann very well. I remember when I saw Taylor waving towards the sideline for someone to come over it was bad. They only replayed the hit once after it happened during the game if I remember correctly. I'm thinking the last coincidence will be that Smith will have to retire.. Although he is "only" in his 30's, I just don't see him coming back from that type of an injury back into football at that age.

I do wish the best for him though!

This just in the NFL is scripted. Sit back and enjoy the show.
