Wow we do have a problem with domestic! This is not a good time for the Chiefs with this but he did the crime, time to pay for it!
Looking for Aaron Judge cards, current Kansas City Royals and Kansas City Chiefs!

That's the thing though … the Police did NOT charge him with anything and the female was listed as a suspect in one of the reports, as she apparently punched Kareem in the face long before he kicked her …
I am NOT defending Hunt's actions whatsoever, but the Police already knew the facts and there was no arrest, no charges, etc., so he won't be doing any "time" … he'll likely get sued by this girl civilly, but I imagine he'll also countersue her for assault as well and have a whole lot more witnesses testifying on his behalf than she will, so I doubt he even has to pay her any $$$ over this either …
However, being placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List and being cut by the Chiefs should be a shock to Kareem's system and will hopefully push him in the right direction.
Personally, I think it's a little unfair for the NFL to place him on the Exempt list as they've already seen the video and now that he deserves the baseline 6 game suspension, so they could have just immediately suspended him 6 games … the Chiefs would still have cut him as they said they cut him because he lied to them (which is strange, as they already knew he was accused by this woman of assault AND Ian Rappaport revealed today that Kareem had also physically assaulted someone in the Chiefs organization in the past year, so, those two things are fine, but lying is the unforgiveable sin? Really?) but had they done so, and he simply been suspended for 6 games, rather than being placed on the Exempt List, I do believe another team would have signed him immediately and just had him miss the last 5 games of this season and the first game of next season.
However, now that he's on the Exempt List and without a team, it's likely it will be announced in the offseason that he will be suspended for 6 games, so any team that wants to sign him in the off-season will only have him for a maximum of 10 games next season.
As for Ray Rice … I do NOT think this incident will end Hunt's career the way it ended Rice's … Rice KO'd his wife and then drug her out of the elevator and tried to cover it up … Kareem "pushed" a drunk female who also punched him in the face according to reports, and then later on did give her a kick, but while I'm not defending it, many are pointing out that it wasn't even close to a violent kick … and I do think if this female sues Kareem, he will countersue and I doubt he'll lose a decision as I doubt it will even go to trial, so, I doubt this incident will end his career … just my $.02

You would think these young men would learn especially with everything being recorded as soon as it happens. I hope another team will take a flier on him as I hate to see such talent go to waste. He going to be punished for a long time to come due to this incident. We will have to check in a few years to see just how bad the fallout will be.

Why was this covered up so long if it was so bad? It wasn't until the TMZ video came out a couple days ago that anything really began to happen with this story and it happened QUICKLY. I get that the Chiefs didn't know because they took Hunt's word for it about what happened but the police did nothing? Didn't they have the video?

Just watched the video. This is nowhere close to what Ray Rice did. Should he be punished, yea, but to what point if someone gets assaulted, can't they retaliate?? People talking about that he kicked her hard. I kick my coffee table harder when I walk around it and stub my toe. Abuse is abuse, and he got hit and she got pushed, end of story.

This lately apparently also used racial slurs towards him and he pushed her then she hit him and he eventually went on to kick her and like everyone said it wasn't much of a kick, however he was not arrested at the time and the cops had the tape and eye witness accounts. I do think there is more to this story that the tape does not show which in my opinion may very well have something to do with him not being charged. I personally think the NFL did what they did because once again they didn't want the backlash that comes with stuff like this so they completely over reacted and put him on that list. I say he gets a 6 game suspension and gets on with his career, I think in the long run the Chiefs will regret cutting him if he comes back and plays well. That being said if he is going around assaulting people then this young man needs to sort out his anger issues before he loses his career for good. Hunt is a tremendous talent and I just hate to see it end this way but if you make your bed you have to lay in it right???

Police not charging him could be as easily explained as insufficient evidence (or desire) at the time to make an arrest.
As my pappy used to say, being wronged doesn't justify doing something else wrong.
The police did not have all the facts at the time. Cleveland Police Department spokesperson Jennifer Ciaccia told USA Today that no one within the department had viewed the video before TMZ posted it. The victim would be referred to the prosecutor to file charges. Detectives only follow up on felonies. This is a misdemeanor.
Interesting speculation and analysis. I'll be curious to see if this plays out.
I 100% agree with that!
They saw it when TMZ posted it. The NFL is all about optics and they had to move quickly so the exemption list was the fastest way they could show they were doing something. Because image is everything to "the shield".
Hunt said he never left his hotel room, ergo he could not have assaulted her. Chiefs chose to take him at his word after the NFL shut down the Chiefs attempts at investigation. Yes it is crappy to say a guy gets cut because of lying and not assault. But who knows if he said that he did indeed assault her they wouldn't have cut him in February. We can't retroactively know (but we can infer!!) what the Chiefs would have done. But after Belcher and Hill's college history they also have concerns about optics.
How would she know that there wouldn't be increased violence to come? Being drunk doesn't give something a free pass to push (or shove) and then kick someone. A violent kick doesn't have to make a physically damaging impact in order to be violent.
Agreed.
They did not have the video as apparently Cleveland PD would ask for video if it were a felony and not a misdemeanor. Seems weird to me personally but that's their official statement.
A person can defend themselves but not retaliate. A drunk 19 year old vs a world class athlete in peak physical conditioning. He can defend himself without kicking someone when they are down. A person in a better frame of mind would know in this situation to walk away and not fear continued assault.
Cops did not have tape per the Cleveland PD spokesperson. Also not acceptable to someone to use racial slurs but a violent reaction is also unacceptable.
It's all about public perception/optics with the NFL. Must not tarnish the shield....
I think they already regret having to cut him since he's a RB on a rookie deal who is vastly outperforming his contract. But they too must defend themselves in the court of public opinion.
As George Young used to say and Bill Parcells repeated. Football is not a game for well-adjusted people.
It doesn't excuse the behavior, but it shouldn't be a surprise when the traits that make someone successful in a violent game spills out into other areas of life.
