    Montana Auto - Real?

Can anybody shed any light on this card? I won it on Ebay, but this guy has a few of these cards for sale. It supposedly has a special Montana hologram on it, but is it a certified auto? I don't mind that it is not SP or limited but I would like to sure that it is in fact a real auto. Anybody?

Thanks for the links Andrew! I did notice that the card you posted had the TOPPS stamp on the top right corner, whereas the one that I won does not seem to have one.

Well I guess when the card comes in, I'll know better.

ooh, youre right, i didnt see that.
There is a regular card in that set without the stamp, but it's not signed. I hope you're getting the real one - it all depends on the sticker on the back, i guess. He has great feedback though, so hopefully it all works out.

the pack pulled are supposed to have the the certified stamp on the top right corner....i have noticed many of these on ebay that have either the montana holo on the back, or a psa/dna certified sticker on the back....i find it odd that these dont have the stamp on them.....i also find it odd that many of these sell for 1/4 of the book value....just my 2 pennies

So then there are different (legitimate) versions of this card out there?

thats not what im saying....the pack pulled autos all have the "topps authentic autograph" stamp on the upper right corner....there is an unsigned version of the card (much like all the topps HOF autos)....i can almost guarantee that the card was not pulled from a pack with an auto on it....whether the autos were obtained later and are properly certified i cant tell you....personally, if a card is supposed to have the certified emblem on the card and doesn't, i wont touch it....the holograms mean nothing to me without a coa from a reputable company...man, i have seen some very good fake coa's from places like mounted memories, steiner, etc....you really have to be careful when buying autos!! im not saying it is real, not saying it is fake....i personally wouldn't touch it.....im very careful with this kind of stuff, and i would be very weary with this particular card.....these are VERY hard to come by, the real topps certified pack pulled HOF autos are very scarce!! i think the odds are just as much as the rookie premiere autos!!

I could be completely wrong about this, but when HOFers are being inducted, don't they usually have some Auto'd cards available at the HOF on the weekend they're officially introduced into HOF? Maybe that's why it's a "different" version than the pack-pulled, certified Topps card?

Here is a scan of some Montanas that I have gotten in person. All of them were signed in front of me, one at a time over 8 years.
